New round of circular economy funding for Victorian businesses

By Liam Taylor  April 29th, 2022

Sustainability Victoria has announced the second round of funding from the Business Support Fund will be open to applications from May to July.

The Business Support Fund aims to support the development and implementation of circular economy business models and practices that will help Victorian businesses reduce waste generation. By transforming how we make and use products, circular economy business models and practices help to design out waste and pollution, extend the use of products and materials, and regenerate natural systems.

Applications to the Fund will open May 25 and close on July 7, 2022. Eligible projects include but are not limited to those that extend the useful life of products, increase shared use, access, or ownership of products, or replace products with services.

The Fund will award up to $4.34m across 2 streams:

An information session for businesses interested in applying for either or both streams will be held on Wednesday, 25 May. Each project can receive a grant between $50,000 and $200,000. Registrations are now open.

Sustainability Victoria is also hosting an interactive masterclass with Lifecycles to help business and industry decision-makers enhance their circular economy projects by going beyond recycling. The class is open to all Victorian businesses who can demonstrate the ability to help drive the state’s circular transition, but especially recommencded for those applying to the Business Support Fund.
