ACE Hub releases first outcomes report tracking the platform’s progress

By Tamanna Wadhwani  March 10th, 2023

The new Interim Outcomes Report 2022 shines a light on the ACE Hub’s progress so far in accelerating the transition to a circular economy in Australia.

The Interim Outcomes Report 2022 examines what the ACE Hub has achieved so far in terms of the proposed outcomes and outputs initially outlined in the Strategic Action Plan 2020-23.

The Strategic Action Plan 2020-23 was developed following the launch of the ACE Hub to be used as a guiding mechanism to facilitate and accelerate the transition toward a circular economy in Australia. The three-year plan identified four outcomes and four outputs to be achieved by 2023.

Two years since the launch in November 2020, the ACE Hub is well on the way to achieving each of these outcomes and outputs. The Interim Outcomes Report, authored by Planet Ark’s Head of Circular Economy Programs Ryan Collins and Head of Circular Economy Development Dr Nicole Garofano, collates the impact of the ACE Hub’s activities in the past two years including media reach, online engagement, website content, events, networking with partners, supporters, working groups and international relations.

The report is divided into four sections explaining the ACE Hub’s contribution to each of the listed outcomes:

    • The ACE Hub is recognised as one of the top five resources for circular economy development in Australia by the government and industry stakeholders.

    • The ACE community platform is a world-class ecosystem of active participants.

    • Increased understanding of circular economy principles and practices by business based on yearly survey.

    • Circular procurement policies rated as important by over 50% of federal, state and local government representatives surveyed.

After having worked on the ‘what is’ aspect of the circular economy, the report lastly provides a way forward for the ACE Hub as we now move to a more action-oriented ‘how to’ phase of our transition towards circularity.

Planet Ark and the ACE Hub would like to thank our funding partners, the Australian Government, BINGO Industries, KeepCup and eleXsys, without whom none of the achievements in this report would have been possible. Also, a big thank you to the ACE Hub Advisory Board, Metrics Working Group, Procurement Working Group, Technical Supporters and Collaboration Partners.
