Measurement of our journey towards a circular economy requires that we have the right data and that common systems are employed. This will allow tracking of our progress as a nation but also permit the states, regions and business to know how they compare with their respective communities and define where improvements are needed. To help manage these data requirements the ACE Hub has formed a Metrics Working Group comprising members from government, industry and expertise from a range of specialisms within the Australian scientific and technical community.
The role of the Working Group is to provide strategic direction, assessment of appropriate tools and systems, advise on research and data requirements and provide leadership on CE metrics to all levels of Australian government, industry and other relevant organisations. These activities will ensure a coordinated best practice system for circular economy metrics development across Australia.
