Resource Management

The current linear economy model is structured to continue consuming this planet's finite resources. The result is the generation of high levels of waste and pollution, threatening human health as well as the health of our biosphere. The shift to a circular economy changes from the model of consumption and waste to one of circulating the resources we use back into the system. If we do nothing to address the situation, we will transgress more planetary boundaries and have to face the dire consequences.

With Australia predominantly an extraction-based economy, the transition to a circular economy will need a significant shift in how we manage resources, develop markets and design products to meet societal and environmental needs.

This sections provides those working in or interested in resource management with links to basic and in-depth information on what is needed to shift to a circular economy.
